If I were an employer, I would like to hire experienced workers at a higher salary instead of hiring inexperienced workers but at a lower salary because of three reasons.
First, it’s easier to hire experienced workers because they already know what skills and knowledges they have before hiring them. They know how much bargaining power they have. Inexperienced workers always focus on their salary and fringe benefits instead of the whole status of their working contribution, but these problems won’t happened on experienced workers.
Second, experienced workers have more adept working skills. It’s important for a company to have experienced workers because they don’t have to train them too much.
Third, experienced workers have more understanding and basic knowledge of the job. A company need the workers that can operate and start producing as soon as possible because time is money. Every employers like workers to be ready as soon as they can.
To sum up, I would prefer experienced workers though at a higher salary.
